UPDATE- 1/7/2015 
There was plenty of snow on the course last weekend. But we missed out on the New Year storm and it is warm and sunny this week.   At worst, there will certainly be enough snow to snowshoe the out and back course we did last year. But I am still hoping to do the loop course. I will check the course on Saturday and send out an update.

Alpine Sports is offering a discount $15 Snow Shoe Rental for racers.  Pick up in their rental shop 3:30 - 6:00 pm on Saturday or on race morning. Shop opens at 7:30 AM. 121 Sandoval Street, Santa Fe, NM 87501  (505) 983-5155

Map shows race going clockwise, loop will actually be run counterclockwise.

Race (run/hike) starts at the Big Tesuque Campground & Picnic area on Hyde Park Rd. Course is a clockwise loop using the Big Tesuque Trail, Winsor Trail, and Pacheco Canyon Rd.

Snow shoes should conform to US Snowshoe Association legal size rules. Generally, adult snowshoe models that measure at least 7” x 20” at the widest and longest (including tail) dimensions are legal. Super small or kid’s snow shoes on adults are not fair and racer may be disqualified from awards.

Snow shoes will be available for rent at Alpine Sports in Santa Fe.  Price and details coming soon.

Santa Fe National Forest. This is a small, tent only campground and picnic area with toilets on the right hand side at mile post 13.
